Huawei has just introduced the Huawei Mate X5 in its local market in China. The company’s latest foldable device is a successor to the Mate X3, but the Mate X5 introduces improvements in the hardware department but generally keeps a similar design.
Huawei Mate X5
The Huawei Mate X5 has a 6.4-inch outer panel and a 7.85-inch inner panel. Both are LTPO OLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates and are protected by Kunlun Glass. Additionally, they have 8MP lenses for selfies.
It has a triple rear camera headed by a 50MP main lens with an f/1.8 aperture coupled with a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP telephoto snapper with 5x optical zoom.
The company didn’t quite reveal the chipset powering the latest Mate X series member but it is reported to have a Kirin 9000s chipset used in the Mate 60 series. The chipset is said to be built on the SMIC 7nm process and supports 5G connectivity.
The foldable also features the company’s Lingxi antenna with AI algorithms to select the best network for you. This is said to be set up in a new design which is said to offer even better signal reception.
The Mate X5 also features an IPX8 waterproof rating and supports two-way BeiDou satellite messaging.

Pricing and Availability
The Huawei Mate X5 is now available for pre-order in China, however, the pricing has yet to be revealed. Additionally, it is uncertain if it will make it out of the local market.
