Google has just silently rolled out the Google Play Pass subscription service in the Philippines. Yes, this is the company’s take on Apple Arcade.
Google Play Pass
Google Play Pass is a subscription service that gives you access to over 1,000 paid apps and games on the Google Play Store.
This means, while you’re subscribed to the service, you can install all the paid apps available on the Pass you want. These apps will be marked with a Play Pass logo so you can easily tell which you can install for ‘free’.
Google clarified that if you do decide to subscribe, in addition to being able to install and play the apps, you can also enjoy no ads and no additional in-app purchases.
Additionally, you can share access to the subscription service with up to 5 other family members.
Now for the real question, how much will it cost to enjoy Google Play Pass in the Philippines? It is priced at PHP 109 + tax per month and PHP 999 + tax for 1 year.
If you want to check out the Play Pass for yourself, here are the steps:
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android device
- Tap your account on the upper right corner of the app
- Look for Play Pass below Library
- Tap Get started
Currently, though, it can be viewed only on the mobile version of the Google Play Store, so you will need to check it out on your smartphone.
